Love Wins

I wrote this poem the morning I heard about the Las Vegas shooting in October. After today’s tragic school shooting in Florida, I feel like it’s a good time to share it again.

You shake the earth and hurt my soul

One time’s too many

I’m losing count, but still I feel

Each man and child

Women, too – so innocent

Try to scare us

Keep us from joy

But we are strong

And won’t lose heart

Each time you try, I’ll pray

Pray for peace, every day

Because I am stronger than you are

And in the end, love wins.
