Time Management

I feel like I am stretched sooo thin lately. I’m sure I’m not the exception and every mom feels this way, but I’m telling you, you’re not alone.

Right now, I am feeling the anxiety of it all. The weight on my chest. The need to de-clutter EVERYTHING in my life. Do you ever just want to throw every thing away and start from scratch?? Looking at pictures of simplistic living actually calms me in some weird, vicariously-living sort of way. And, I know I’m not the only one.

Lately, it has been crazy athough, I can’t pinpoint why. I just feel it all right now. Maybe nothing has really changed that much (a little, yes, but not a ton). I am super busy at work and I expected it, but it’s still a lot. My house feels like it’ll never be organized. I’ve let things pile up (read: laundry and clutter and my to-do list). My youngest is turning one in a week and I have NO idea what to do for it (poor second-child). I think I need a planner. And more hours in a day. And a lot of servants. Okay, I just need a life-coach and to be a princess – Meghan Markle, teach me your ways.

If you made it through the above paragraph, I applaud you. Actually, I may pity you because I just brought you into my crazy world.

That brings me back to the title of this post — Time Management. I used to be *great* with it. I never struggled with being late, finished projects ahead of time in school and I was great at prioritizing. That was all pre-adult, though. Now, it’s rough. Working, being a mom, being a wife, taking care of a home. I need my college planner back!

How do you all do it?

This morning, I woke up at 4am because my almost-one-year-old, who still isn’t night weaned (judge if you want – this mom is tired), threw up all over me. I took a shower at 4:15 and stood in there debating whether or not I should get up and work out (because that’s also on my to-do list) or throw in the laundry and then try to get an extra 45 minutes of sleep. Sleep won because #exhaustedmomhere. I spent the rest of the morning putting together food and bottles for my two kids (who are currently at two different schools – praise to the hubby to took them both this morning), working, going to the office for a meeting on my work-from-home day, and then taking my lunch break to run errands and buy birthday presents for my kid who has two birthday parties this weekend in addition to his soccer game.

Again, I ask, how do you do it? Are you all just as frazzled as me? All I know is that I have a whole new respect for my mom and all she did for us when I was growing up. She was a freaking rock star.
